Currently we are preparing for a new intake of children at the time of the new school year in July. The target is to have a total of 20 children at the refuge by the end of 2008. Every week we receive new applications to enter the Refuge, and the following month will be full up assessing each child's individual circumstances, visiting them as necessary, and deciding which are in most need. Other recent furniture donations have included a large number of unfinished and broken items from P.T Rumah Masa Depan ( Deco France ). We are currently in the process of setting up a small carpentry and furniture finishing operation with workers from the local disabled community, in cooperation with a local furniture manufacturer called Armada Orient. It is hoped that this will provide work training, experience and employment for local disabled people who might otherwise have difficulty finding work, as well as providing stock to be sold in the Charity Shop. Hopefully a continuous supply of unfinished and broken furniture can quickly be established so that this project can grow and provide a significant and long term service.

A charitable organization called “The Tree of Life Foundation” has been set up in UK with the object of supporting children in need in Indonesia . This organization will undertake fundraising events in UK and Yayasan Gunungan will be one of its main beneficiaries.
